Dalia Mogahed is director of research at the Institute for Social Policy and Understanding, where she moved to after being the the executive director and a senior analyst at the Gallup Centre for Muslim Studies and director of the Muslim- West Facts Initiative. She was appointed by President Obama to serve on the Advisory Council on Faith-Based and Neighbourhood Partnerships and is the first hijab-wearing Muslim woman to hold a White House position. Mogahed has also held high positions in the US-Muslim Engagement Project and is co-author of the book Who Speaks for Islam? What a Billion Muslims Really Think.
