Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal is a member of the Saudi royal family who built his fortune through entrepreneurship and investment in real estate and the stock market. His philanthropic contributions are wide-ranging and include a contribution of $20 million to found the Centre for Christian-Muslim Understanding at Georgetown University, which remains one of the key institutions globally working on Christian-Muslim relations. He recently announced that he would donate his entire fortune to charity in order to foster cultural understanding and empower women, among other motivations. In June 2015 Forbes listed Al-Waleed as the 34th-richest man in the world, with an estimated net worth of US $28 billion. He claims he’s worth US $32 billion.
