Aichatou Mindaoudou was appointed as UN Special Representative for CÃ´te d’Ivoire and Head of the United Nations Operation in CÃ´te d’Ivoire (UNOCI) in May 2013. Ms Mindaoudou is a former Nigerian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and African Integrity. She has served the government since the mid-1990s and is the former Secretary General for the Network for Rural Law. Aichatou has written extensively about economic development and women’s issues. She is one of the most senior-level women politicians in West Africa.
