HE Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah became the Emir of Kuwait in 2023. Born in 1940, he spent most of his career in Kuwait’s security and intelligence apparatus, culminating in his role as deputy chief of the Kuwait National Guard. His appointment as Crown Prince in 2020 at the age of 80 marked him as the world’s oldest crown prince.
