Dr Al-Madani is the President of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), which aims to provide short- and long-term solutions to poverty alleviation in the Muslim world. The IDB is the principal financing institution of the Organization of the Islamic Conference. Al-Madani is keen on taking the IDB to the next level of excellence with Vision 1440Hβa plan that aims at alleviating poverty, eradicating illiteracy, providing better health facilities to people, strengthening ties with the private sector and NGOs, and enhancing womenβs development. Previously, Al-Madani served as the Deputy Minister of Education in Saudi Arabia, and as Secretary General of the Muslim World League, and served as a Member of the Board of Trustees of King Abdullah University of Science and Technology.
