Güler Sabancı is a distinguished Turkish businesswoman and philanthropist, widely recognised as a pioneering leader. While she was chairperson of the family-controlled Sabancı Holding for two decades, she stepped down from that role in March 2025. Ban Ki-moon appointed Sabancı as a member of the Board of United Nations Global Compact, the UN’s highest-level advisory body involving business, civil society, labour, and employers’ organisations. She continues to chair the Sabancı Foundation, a leading private foundation in Türkiye, the Sakıp Sabancı Museum and is the founding president of Sabancı  University. In 2024, she was awarded the Japanese “Order of the Rising Sun”.
