Dr Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri is an accomplished academic, senior lecturer, eminent writer and poet. He was the Director General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), and ex-officio Secretary General of the Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World (FUIW)1991-2019. He established the Supreme Council of Education, Science and Culture, an alliance designated for work outside the Islamic world, and is a member of numerous international organizations and forums such as the Royal Aal Al Bayt Institute for Islamic Thought, and the Nizami Ganjavi International Center. Dr Altwaijri is also a staunch advocate of cultural dialogue and the alliance of civilizations and has received high-level distinctions from over 26 countries.
